Book Club Verdict: The Jane Austen Book Club
Rather than repeat my whole rant about this book over here, I direct you to my review over on the site where I should be keeping track of what I’ve read. Alas, I’m lazy when it comes to writing the reviews, so I’ve only got about a third of them up so far.
Go read it – I’m at my vile-spewing best tonight!
I read what you wrote, though I found it confusing (a book about a discussion about a book? or did I completely misunderstand what the hell you were talking about?).
I read Jane Austen in highschool and university. I don’t remember despising it though. I read a lot of books in university and despised a lot of them. I’m glad I can’t remember their titles.
I didn’t get past the first couple chapters and wanted to throw the book through a wall. Ugh. It brought back torturous memories of me reading Emma… Hate. Fiery hate.
Pender – no, you got it. It was about this group of people who form a book club to talk about Jane Austen books. And be passive-aggressive and bitchy. And I may give Austen a chance once I’ve calmed down.
