A bunch of parents wanted to prevent this, they made up a pamphlet that listed all the "bad words" in the book and mailed it out to every house in town. So, instead of grade 12s reading the words in context, any little kid who could reach the mailbox could see a list of all these, completely out of context. Talk about defeating your own purpose!
